Ultima Gstaad Review: Summer & Winter in One of the Most Luxurious Hotels in Gstaad

Ultima Gstaad isn’t just a luxury hotel it’s one of those places you make incredible memories.

I’ve now stayed here in both summer and winter I loved in so much in summer I just had to go back in winter and experience it in the snow and honestly, it works beautifully in every season but two very different experiences

Whether it’s hiking through the Swiss Alps in the sunshine or visiting Glacier 3000 in the snow with huskies, this is ultra-luxury done properly, everything about Gsstad is just pure luxury, you honestly just feel abundant being there

If you’re searching for one of the best luxury hotels in Gstaad, this one sits firmly at the top

Getting to Ultima Gstaad From Geneva

The hotel arranged a private transfer from Geneva airport, which immediately sets the tone, it was princess vibes from the moment we arrived .

The drive takes around two hours through stunning alpine scenery.

You can also take the train which is scenic and very easy but the private car makes the arrival completely seamless and dreamy as the views are so beautiful

From the moment you arrive at Ultima Gstaad, everything feels luxe from the welcome to all the designer they have inside the moment you walk through the door

Gstaad Itself Understated, Chic & Beautiful

Gstaad is absolutely gorgeous it’s quite possibly one of my favourite places

It’s not loud or flashy. It’s elegant, clean and quietly luxurious.

In summer, the mountains are green and you just wake up to fresh air and gorgeous Mountain View’s

In winter, the entire village looks like something out of a film snow-covered rooftops, cosy restaurants and crisp mountain air

We wandered through the village, soaked up the atmosphere and had proper Swiss cheese fondue which is non-negotiable when you’re here however be prepared to eat your weight in calories

Sitting in the Alps with fondue bubbling away is part of the Gstaad experience

Ultima Gstaad in Summer Hiking & Fresh Mountain Air

We did some gorgeous alpine hikes during our stay, which I’d highly recommend.

The air feels incredibly fresh, and it’s such a beautiful alternative to a typical beach holiday the hike trails are amazing all different levels

Ultima can also arrange horse and carrriage to give you a tour, which adds another layer to the experience if you love doing something a little different

I just did 4 nights / 5 days and I found that was enough

Ultima Gstaad in Winter Snow & Glacier 3000

Winter is pure magic, it feels like a real life winter wonderland

Snow everywhere, cosy evenings and that cinematic Swiss alpine atmosphere fairy tale vibes

One of the highlights was visiting Glacier 3000 and doing husky sledding you can get a taxi it’s about 30 minutes from Gsstad

It was surreal snow-covered mountains stretching for miles, crisp air and being pulled across the landscape by huskie

It’s one of those magical experiences that stays with you.

If you’re visiting Gstaad in winter, Glacier 3000 is absolutely worth doing there’s a cafe at the top and a bridge etc you can walk across a real tourist hotspot

The Hotel – Discreet, Ultra-Luxury

Ultima Gstaad is pure alpine chalet luxury

Warm wood, marble, soft lighting and a modern chalet aesthetic that feels expensive in my room I also had a fire which I just loved

It feels exclusive without trying to prove it

The Award-Winning Spa at Ultima Gstaad

The spa is award-winning for a reason

Beautiful pool, wellness areas and an atmosphere that feels genuinely indulgent.

After hiking in summer or snow adventures in winter, coming back to this spa is next level

It’s not just a facility it’s part of the whole experience again here the treatments where actually unreal I came out feeling brand new

Dining – Exceptional, Refined & Seamless

The food is exceptional, if you love good food and wine you will absolutely love love eating here and in Gsstad there’s loads of amazing places to eat

Every meal feels beautifully executed and high quality

Service is perfect

Whether you’re there for a girls’ trip or a romantic alpine escape, dining at Ultima is a highlight

Best Time to Visit Ultima Gstaad: Summer or Winter?

Having experienced both, I genuinely think it depends on what kind of trip you want

• Summer: hiking, fresh air, slower alpine days and green mountain views.

• Winter: snow, ski season energy, Glacier 3000 and that magical Swiss atmosphere.

Ultima works beautifully year-round

Is Ultima Gstaad Worth It?

This is ultra-luxury and priced accordingly.

You’re paying for:

• One of the most luxurious hotels in Gsstad

• Discreet, high-end alpine living

• Award-winning spa facilities

• Seamless service (including airport transfers)

• Exceptional dining

• Access to unique experiences like Glacier 3000

But more than that it’s one of those places where you just make amazing memories which stay with you for life

Between hiking in the Alps, husky sledding in winter, fondue in the village and relaxing in the spa, the whole experience feels special

If you’re looking for a true Swiss Alps luxury stay, Ultima Gstaad absolutely delivers

My Final Thoughts

Ultima Gstaad is one of the best luxury hotels in Switzerland, especially if you value privacy, service and setting

Summer feels fresh and expansive.

Winter feels magical

Either way, it’s the kind of trip that stays with you long after you’ve left

And I’d go back again in any season in a heartbeat
