From £20k in Debt as a Mortgage Broker living in Surrey to a 7-Figure Freedom Business: My Story

I want to tell you something that I've never really said out loud before.

In 2019, I was sitting in my apartment in Surrey, staring at my phone, and I was crying. Not the pretty kind of crying, the ugly, mascara-down-your-face, hands-shaking kind, 30 was fastly approaching and I just was not where I wanted to be life, I was having a mini melt down.

I'd just checked my bank account  again hoping that somehow the numbers had changed. They hadn't, I was £20,000 in debt, I had more month left than money and I was just tired of living paycheque to paycheque and on paper? 

My life looked great.

That's the part nobody talks about, because you never really know whats going on inside someones life do you.

On paper, I was doing everything right, I had the corporate job, I had the salary. I had the career path mapped out in front of me all the way to 65. And I was completely, utterly burnt out, bored of commuting into London at 6 am every morning on a jab packed train freezing cold and soaking wet it was Febuary so it HIT harder

The life that looked good from the outside, I had the gorgeous suit, I lived in surrey I had the designer bag I couldn’t really afford…

I want you to really hear this, because I think a lot of you reading this know exactly what I'm talking about.

I wasn't struggling in the way people assume when they hear the word "debt."

I wasn't reckless, I wasn't irresponsible, I was just a woman working incredibly hard, living paycheque to paycheque, and slowly realising that no matter how much I earned, it was never quite enough.

The promotions came, my department performed others didn’t so I didn’t always get the bonus yet he responsibilities grew.

But the freedom?  What freedom I was in a relationship with my job!

I was exhausted in a way that a weekend couldn't fix, Sunday evenings made me anxious. 

I was spending the best hours of my days inside four walls, building somebody else's dream, and the thought of doing that until I was 65 genuinely scared me

I wanted more. My soul craved more and I wanted to actually live my life

The Moment Everything Shifted

I kept seeing these women online, Travelling. Working from laptops on beaches, in cafés in Bali, on rooftops in Australia and I remember thinking  is that actually real? 

Can people actually do that, or is it just a highlight reel, can people actually make money online?

I got curious. I started digging. And what I found wasn't some influencer fantasy it was a genuine, legitimate business model that real people were building real income from. 

A way to earn money through travel. Uncapped income. No ceiling. No boss. No office.

Something inside me shifted, I felt a warm fuzzy feeling of excitement that I hadn’t felt for a long time, a bit of hope, passion and a dream that actually felt possible.

I want to to be honest  I didn't have a business plan, I didn't have savings. I had £20,000 of debt, I had zero experince booking travel for anyone bar myself and I didn’t even know what Network Marketing was but a burning feeling that I was meant for something different.

So I took a chance….

I joined for £156 and it actually went on a credit card which made me more determined to make it work, which at the time honestly felt terrifying.

I remember thinking - this is either the best decision I've ever made, or I've just made my debt worse. But something in my gut said go so I went, after all I was already living my worst case scenario and if this didn’t work I would just keep doing what I was doing which meant I would only lose £156

Well i’d definitely spent that on a night out before!

I want to be honest with you: it wasn't overnight. Building anything real never is but I did get my fee back pretty quick.

I became OBSESSED with the business and with the model, Travel really is such a fun sexy industry to be part of.

It started working faster than I expected  and more importantly, it started feeling different to anything I'd done before, I was lit up. I was learning.

I went on a huge paid personal development journey.

I was actually excited to get up in the morning for the first time in years and actually I would stay up most nights working the business in the evenings - I swapped binge watching netflix to build my empire.

The first milestone that made me cry happy tears this time, I hit Bronze, then sliver and then Gold and within 18 momths I was leaving my corporate job. 

I couldnt believe it, I joined for a extra £500 a month to pay off my card and then it kept growing.

Month by month, the income climbed. 

And then one month I looked at what I'd earned and realised it had outpaced my entire annual corporate salary. In a single month. 

I sat with that for a long time. All those years of early mornings, of commuting, of Sunday anxiety and here I was, earning more in thirty days than I used to earn in a year and the best thing was I got to live my Bali dream, I was able to travel to Bali, to Canada, to Miami, Costa Rica, Dubai, Australia and Mexico and build my business at the same time.

What My Life Looks Like Now

I travel the world.

Properly travel it not two weeks a year with my out-of-office on, but actually living in places, exploring them slowly, experiencing them fully and its been the best experience seeing different cultures, experiencing different foods and meeting different types of people from all over the world. 

I built a business that earns while I sleep, while I'm on a plane, while I'm walking on a beach somewhere warm. I have an uncapped income that grows because I choose to grow it, not because someone decides to give me a pay rise.

And away from the business?

I bought my dream car. I bought my dream home. I got my dog. I got my horse. Things that once felt like a distant "maybe someday" became my actual, ordinary life.

But the thing I'm most proud of  more than any of that  is the women I've helped get here too.

Thousands of women. Women who were exactly where I was burnt out. Underpaid. Quietly desperate for something different. Women who took a chance the same way I did, and who now have the freedom, the income, and the life they always knew they deserved.

That is what gets me up in the morning, my team because it no longer becomes about your own money it becomes something so much bigger which is actually something I didn’t understand people saying at first but now I really do.
